Where the Roses Grow

Where the Roses Grow

26th October 2009

Friday saw the annual Roses Design Awards decamp from its regular Manchester venue up to Robin’s hood Nottingham. As this was our first Roses nomination, a refreshing walk through our own city centre may’ve been a little more convenient, but not even the horrendous three-hour crawl down the A6 could keep us from attending our first night at the Roses.

The awards were preceded with a recession-inspired feast of bubble and squeak, and after a tense nail-biting wait we were all very pleased to be announced as one of the night’s winners. Our festive project Christmas by Colour was one of the three successful best poster nominations, receiving a bronze award for our exploration into the real colours that shape Christmas. With only two bronzes and one gold being awarded from seven nominees in the poster category, we were over the moon that Michael Wolff & co. were impressed with our self-initiated project.

No doubt photographs of the evening’s festivities will appear online this week so we’ll be sure to share our big grins and shiny gong with you very soon!
