The Twelve Colours of Christmas

The Twelve Colours of Christmas

12th October 2009

Last year's Christmas festivities saw the creation of Christmas by Colour, a not-for-profit exploration into the colours that shape our Christmas. Frustrated at the plethora of Christmas reds, whites and greens we decided to explore the colours people really associate with their Christmas.

Thousands of people from around the world embraced the project and relished the opportunity to suggest their own colour and its personal meaning. We then handpicked the best to go on our nice list and be featured on the Pantone-inspired A1 poster. As well as being the Christmas present of choice within the design community, the prestigious Roses Design Awards also nominated CBC in their Best Poster category.

The collaborative project continues to shine as a symbol of individuality in a season filled with clichés and mass consumerism. A few of last year's posters are still available but Santa also has something new up his sleeve for your enjoyment this holiday season: CBC-themed Christmas cards showcasing your 12 all-time favourites!

After scrolling through the whole poster, and whittling it down to our 40 personal favourites, it's now down to you - our loyal troop of elves - to vote for your favourite Christmas colour, with the top 12 being made into festive greetings cards for you to share this holiday season!
