Designing for Health - Getting the Message Accross
18th March, 2008
Raw was in London last week, presenting our experiences of working with the NHS, at a conference at the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM).
Managing Director, Steve Taylor, was asked by the Chair of the Epidemiology & Public Health secton, Dr. Justin Varney, to give a presentation on the use of graphic design on a local level at the first ever RSM meeting to discuss the issues around Social Marketing within the NHS.
Steve's presentation touched on the changing use of graphic design at Primary Care Trust level, the use of design as a promotional tool and its place within the Social Marketing framework. He went on to discuss raw's experiences of working with the NHS and was joined by a wide array of experienced speakers, from the National Centre for Social Marketing, Dr. Fosters, Health First and ChaMPs Social Marketing group.
Feedback for the event was incredibly positive and the RSM are now looking to
run the event again, with a more focus on commissioning and evaluation,
in 2009 in Manchester.
